Lauren and Justin met after college and have been coming to Stowe for eight summers now, so it was no question that this was THE place to get married. But of course when 2020 rolled around so did COVID, and unfortunately a big wedding just wasn’t in the cards. Lauren and Justin quickly pivoted to an elopement, taking every precaution with their entire guest list quarantining and testing to responsibly take part in the day. With the help of their close friends and family, they were able to put together a beautiful ceremony on top of Mount Mansfield in Stowe and the most perfect intimate reception outdoors at The Stowehof.
Lauren and Justin started their day off with a pre-wedding hike from the top of the Mt. Mansfield gondola to the ridge line. We did some rock scrambling, ducked through rock tunnels, and made sure to stop to enjoy the views. It was a great way for these two to spend extra time together alone before their ceremony (with me as their third wheel of course.)
After their hike, they both got ready on top of the mountain. Lauren got ready outdoors (thanks to the bridal party holding up a blanket so she could put on her dress). One bridesmaid even curled Lauren’s hair for the last minute touch ups before she walked down the aisle. The ceremony took place overlooking the Presidential mountain range and without a dry eye in the bunch. With the live guitar music by a friend, the scene was perfection.
The wedding crew then headed over to Trapp Family Lodge for a luncheon (because when you go from traditional wedding to elopement you get to do whatever you want!) Lastly, they celebrated their love with a delicious dinner, music, speeches and cake on the outdoor grounds of the Stowehof.
