I’m thrilled to finally be sharing this Stratton winter engagement session! When Meghann first reached out to me for an engagement session, I did not know if it would work out. They needed a last minute session in Stratton, which is about three hours away from where I live in Stowe. But thankfully for all of us we figured it out, and I headed South that weekend to meet her and Nick at Stratton Mountain.
Together we snapped some apres style shots before they headed to change into snowy-er gear. Once all bundled up, we caught a ride on the gondola to the top of the mountain. Next, came the hike to the fire tower. None of us knew where we were going, but it added to the adventure of the day. Luckily we ran into a nordic skier, who assured us we were headed in the right directly.
Once we arrived at the fire tower we had to wait our turn to go up. There were ice chunks raining down from the people above, so going up while anyone else was up there was out of the question. Ascending the tower was sketchy at best, as all the railings and metal stairs were covered in thick ice. But Meghann and Nick were troopers and assured me they were comfortable heading up.
Besides that small element of danger, this shoot was so relaxed and playful; the three of us laughing and having fun the entire time. The laughter was contagious from Meghann and Nick, and their love and happiness easily showed in their photos.
About Meghann and Nick:
Meghann and Nick met in college, started out as friends, and didn’t begin dating until after they graduated. For the proposal, Nick surprised Meghann with family and friends that came from Florida, New Jersey, and New York, to help celebrate. The group all popped out from hiding along with bottles of champagne to share the joy with the happy couple!
Meghann and Nick are having a winter wedding at the oldest hotel in Cape May, NJ on the beach.
