Quite possibly the most magical thing I’ve ever done! I can’t recommend this unforgettable experience enough. If you’re looking for an addition to your bucket list, add a hot air balloon ride in Cappadocia, Turkey. Trust me, it’s unreal! April is supposed to be in the low 60s… but we got snow and temps under 20°. Balloon rides were canceled the two days before, and on our last morning there (with a flight back to Istanbul that same afternoon) we somehow snagged a spot. Our balloon pilot mentioned it was his first time flying with snow in April. So yes, we were COLD—but floating over snow-dusted fairy chimneys was absolutely worth it. It’s my 41st birthday today (yes, forty-freakin’-one), and I thought: what better time to pop back onto your feed than while jet-lagged and slightly unhinged after just landing in Istanbul?
